I just recently bought a used GT60-0NE, a laptop which I've owned before but sold for certain reasons, and the owner tells me he disabled the keyboard and I just need to "reengage" it. The keyboard actually works, but the key mapping is completely messed up and none of the keys print out what they're actually supposed to be printing out, ie. backspace prints out 3, spacebar is actually backspace. I've tried to reconnect the keyboard, I can't seem to flash the BIOS (not sure how to with the current version of BIOS on this laptop), and I've at wits ends trying to fix this issue. I'm debating if I should give the laptop back to the original owner and get my money back because this is infuriating. I don't usually use the laptop's keyboard since I use a mechanical keyboard, but it would definitely be nice to get the laptop's keyboard working properly again.

It is most likely the original owner replaced the original keyboard with a different generation of the MSI SteelSeries keyboard and your laptop EC is not compatible with it. And second option it could be that it was flashed with the wrong EC. So first try searching for the original EC for your laptop and that might fix it.
