    CPU: i7-4700MQ
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 870M (3GB GDDR5) = Slightly slower than GTX 780M
    HDD: Up to 768GB Super RAID 2 + 1TB HDD 7200rpm
    Battery: 6-Cell Li-Polymer (5400mAh 60Wh)

Will it overheat or not? I am really interested in this laptop but i am really curious about overheating and throtling and of course batter life.

So what do you think guys about new GS70 Pro?

It will surely run hot, although it could be designed to operate at high temps (think high 80's for GPU with good cooling unless they really improved on the design).
Battery life should be great with the new nvidia battery boost tech, probably around 5-7 hours.
    Looks delicious.

I really like all of these powerful ultra thin laptops becoming available.

I'm looking for something to use as a workstation/gaming machine. I was looking into the new Razer Blade 14 with 870m. But to try using that as a workstation limited at 8GB and 512GB storage makes it not ideal.

This new GS70 with 870m ... upgradable to 16GB (for VMs) and plenty of storage exansion (3 x mSATA plus 2.5" drive) looks perfect to me.

I still wish I could get up to 32GB though (again, for VMs). But 16GB may work since I'll likely not be trying to run all VMs at once.

Is the thin factor really that important to you? Because it seems the GT series could really acomodate your need of 32GB of RAM. Indeed, it is helpful with VMs.

I theard it was great! ;) Seriously, this is the one I am leaning towards now. I'm hoping there's a 3K option for it, like the GS60 Ghost apparently offers. I'm afraid that this model seems to good to be true, so I'm looking forward to some serious hands-on reviews.

("Serious" as in the reviewer will know the specs and won't be wearing two pairs of sunglasses like this guy.)

This might be old for some of you, but I found this one today. It's the same mumbly MSI rep as in the other CES videos, but here we get a bit more info on the cooling (fans, intake), audio, and multiple display capability.

New for me is the confirmation that you can use the laptop display in addition to the 3 external displays.

Do you guys know how much roughly it costs? I am really really interested in this laptop. In the website it doesn't state the price. Will it be the same as the previous GS70?

I really dislike how gaming laptop makers will have a 20-foot-long features scroll but zero information on price or availability.

MSI has the GS70 2PE Stealth Pro page up, it's colorful and pitchy, but not even a "Coming 2nd Quarter 2014" or anything!

It's available for preorder between $1600-2100 (Base/Pro) at a few online retailers with an est. delivery date of 2-3 weeks. That's a good start. That's all I have to go on.

So I was thinking about getting one of these since I am getting a little tired of lugging around 10 pounds gaming notebooks. This look like a good alternative to the X7?

Well then ... if you are choosing between GS70 870M and that Gigabyte ... i would definitely go with MSI :) reason: lighter, stylish design :D especially keyboard :D , but i am really curious about battery life of this year model , if its better than before and if is dual fan of MSI enough to cool down that Kepler 870M :O

I was pretty impressed with the Aorus X7 and that was the 2x 765M version. CPU temps were pretty high but GPU temps were really good.

Once the 2x8XXM version comes out it will be nice to compare it to the Stealth Pro (once those show up too).

I agree. The Aorus X7 seems like a nice blend of high performance and portability, with high but manageable temps.

Now GS70 with a 870m sounds amazing. The 870m is supposed to be a 680m right? that is a heck of a lot of power still.

(BTW, Admins, the ads on this site via mobile are hijacking my browser. Fix it? This is not good. )

    870m is 30%up from 770M. No idea about 680m.

It's a bit faster than that really and goes past the 680m if it can turbo properly.

Think the ssd's will be able to be taken out of Raid 0 and put into Raid 1? I am wanting to put 2 of the stock SSD's in Raid 1 for the boot drive(s) and getting a 500Gb ssd for all my programs and games. Thoughts?

They are standard ssds so they act like standard drives, you can do what you like with them.

One thing I like about the GS70 is that its still using standard msata ssd's so you have more choices for upgrades.

Think it uses the newer m.2 sata, not so readily available yet.

Does anyone know if it is the PCIe version or the SATA version of m.2?

I have the gs70 765m version now. Wife loves it also.

Any idea the performance in games of 870 vs 765???? Can't find good benchmarks.

Thinking of giving mine to her and getting new version.....

    870 gets around 7K in 3DMark11.. I think the 765M sits around 4K?

There's some benchmarks at notebookcheck.net head over there and look them up.

    Simply sad: 870M = 680M - 780M ... performance somewhere between these two ...
    765M = 850M

So there's quite a huge difference in performance ;)

I'm mildly jealous of you Canucks getting the GS70's before us here in the US :hi2: Then again, it seems like everything is screwed up in the electronics market lately with the US getting the PS4 long before Japan does... How does that work?

Not only do you get it before us, you get it cheaper too! Won't lie, I was scouring the page trying to find if they'd ship it to me here in the US lol. Apparently, the answer is no form what I've discovered. Guess I'll just have to wait for it like everyone else. I will bring up the B&H is offering up the Stealth Pro for 1799 sans the super raid (single 128gb drive) which isn't a bad deal at all. May well get that then go crazy and buy 3 fast ssd's for it (yes I know it takes a special kind).

This thing can't come out fast enough for my taste, I'm ready to replace my old Vaio and find it a good loving home through ebay or something.

Too much GS60 attention these days. Need more GS70 PRO!

Apart from a couple of custom shops, no one else seems to be selling (or offering for pre-order) the Super RAID model. Hopefully someone will have one of these on their table soon. I'm about to scratch my eyes out in anticipation.

It's a single SSD, not the Super RAID 2 version. I have yet to see one yet outside of custom shops.

I've just pre-ordered the very top line on xoticpc. I am excited to receive it. It's the one with super raid 2. It's on their site now for pre-order only though.
