I just received my GS70 from HIDevolution, it has a single 256gb SSD instead of the super raid0 setup. I can't change the brightness of the screen (both with the function keys on the keyboard or by going into the control panel), I'm not sure what the problem could be, any help?

    MSI Global GS70 STEALTH

Look for the Intel VGA driver. Download and install that first (use the stable one for now, and not the beta). You may want to update the chipset driver while you're at it, if it's not already current.

I would do a clean install of windows and install all the drivers.. then try...Best thing is to get factory install out and I bet you won't have a problem. my 2 cents

Hello all, I've tried all of the above, minus the fresh install, and have had no luck. I've reset Windows 8 to factory defaults but that did not fix the issue either. I'm at a loss as the software appears to be working but the hardware doesn't comply.

Check to see if brightness is working in the BIOS.

I'm sure you've probably already checked this...but also make sure that "Adaptive Brightness" is disabled in the advanced power saving settings. That can prevent other brightness changes if it's enabled.
