    Hi,
Just purchased a MSI GS63VR 7RF and noticed the trackpad clicks when i touch it. It feels like there is a gap between the trackpad and the clicker.

Is this normal or should I get a replacement?

    Thanks

It tends to be a common problem among many 'clickpad' style trackpads. I think this trend started after the MacBooks got the unibody glass trackpads.

Usually there is a metal piece that the clicking mechanism (a button, usually located on the bottom of the actual trackpad) pushes against to register a click. This metal piece may not be manufactured to acceptable tolerances and there will be a gap between the trackpad and the casing where the trackpad is supposed to click against. If the piece is adjustable, I would try to tighten it. If not, I would cut out a small square of electrical tape to place against this metal tab to close the gap.

Another option is to return your unit, but this can have negative consequences (getting a unit that is lacking in other areas; most notably, case build and screen defects).

    Hope this helps!
