On a different topic, if there are any War Thunder players out there, I had tough time getting it to run normally on my fresh GS60 - the latest NVIDIA driver caused a weird crash error, but works on the 337.50 (beta) driver. Then I had a very strange error where I couldn't move my mouse cursor in the hangar screen to the bottom ~1/6 and right ~1/6 of the screen. Also, all the in-game text appeared "fuzzy" somehow. Tried turning off antialiasing, lots of google searches, etc. Anyway, found the solution, so I hope this helps:

It turns out that the default Win 8.1 setting was to put the "text size" at a medium setting, which somehow messed-up the maximum area the mouse cursor could travel. To change this:
Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Display -> change size of all items -> slide the slider ALL the way to the left (smaller).

Game runs wonderfully at FHD now.

    Cheers

You can always use a notebook cooler to aid you there. At least to prevent your legs from toasting! :)

Gaming notebooks shouldn't be treated as laptops because they are hardly usable on laps at all due to its intense heat generated during use.
Please refrain from doing so as you can possibly get burned, or encounter unforeseen health-related hazards.

True. Under minimal load with a cooler on one's lap isn't so bad. But gaming - let alone without a flat surface - is advised against.
