    Greetings,

I once had a MSI I liked in a Power Pro model, but the plastic hinges kept falling out every year or so... the lifetime support quickly dropped to one set of hinges only.
    Therefore my first question:

    1. Is the casing of the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro-064 all aluminum?
    2. How are the drives configured, up to 2 Msata drives and one or two hard drives?
    3. Does running RAID 0 make the pc more fragile, as a mobile laptop?

That's pretty good for starters, but if anyone knows if China now owns all Taiwanese companies since they took over Taiwan, that would be interesting too: although there are no other alternatives, so... still it would be interesting information to factor in.

    TIA!

    1) yes it is all aluminum
    2) there are two M.2 drive slots and 1 hard drive slot
    3) what do you mean by fragile? lol. RAID 0 always has risks. I personally prefer using separate drives (1 for OS, 1 for games, and the hard drive for storage). Using Raid 0 increases load time but i cant risk my files.

My preferred configuration is 128gb M.2 for OS, 250gb M.2 for games, and 2TB hard drive for my movies and other things.

    Greetings,

I have researched what I did not understand and now feel better in my initial model selection from all indications in every aspect. Could someone please address my configuration issues?

    1. Is "16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3L/1600 Dual Channel MemoryStandard" good enough (I hope it would be excellent) or do I need to spend $49 more for the "16GB Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3L/1600 Dual Channel Memory"?
Is there any objective difference or failure history of the Standard ram?

    2. You can Raid 0 two M.Sata drives and then have a choice for the hard drive.
...a. If I got the same drive as the sum of the Raid 0 M.Sata drives, could I raid 0 it again, or would it make any speed difference at all compared to a ssd speed anyway (in most situations)?
...b. Would my data storage drive best be the cheapest 1T 7200, which is faster than 5400 anyway? OR
...c. Would the raiser fast Samsung Evo 500gb drive be the best and only $129 more than the 1T 7200 drive?
It is hard for me to judge how much each configuration would yield or even which one is even possible. I assume anything goes, almost, but for what gains if any is unknown.

    3. Since the GTX 970 card will be fast, even though 6gb vram, should I even consider Raid 0 to make it closer to the edge of throttling? It is not a GTX 980 that requires 500 w power and it is refined. So even though it is only a mild concern, I would like expert feedback as to the probabilities of throttling happening while not working in 3d animation.

    THANKS!

    1) I would take the Hyper X edition if money is not an issue. I wouldn't say there will be big differences. CL9 always better (might need others opinion on this)

    2) a. I don't think so. Raid 0 should be between same storage drives so another drive that equal to the sum of the other 2 won't compatible.
    b. I would take the 7200RPM. But again, I would prefer the biggest storage for obvious reason. It's slow but the files are occasionally accessed, unlike system files.
    c. I don't see the point of installing another ssd to your 2.5" slot since you already had 2 msatas. But that's just me. Although my friend did install a 1TB SSD into his 2.5" slot but that's because he need to access his massive files fast (3D medical images or something I'm not sure).

So if you need to have every drives as fast as possible, then go for the ssd, but keep in mind that would limit the storage for your movies and such, and the price will go way up.
If you're like me and want the best dollar value, then just use those 2 msatas for system and game storage, and the 2.5" slot for big storage (way cheaper).

    3. I don't know what you mean by "Raid 0 to make it closer to the edge of throttling". I don't think drives will affect the performance of the graphic card. AND if you're asking about the heat, then GTX 970M won't disappoint you. I haven't seen any throttle even when I run benchmarks. When gaming (GTA V very high settings), GPU wont get passed 86C (at least not for me). Although the temp might look impressive, DO NOT put it on your lap lol,

If you want video info then check out XoticPC review on youtube. They always show temp when benchmarks.
