I am going to purchase the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro within the next week. I was just wondering, for how many years will it be able to run games at medium to high settings? I would like a life span of about 4 years.

Probably around 2 or 3 years at the most, technological advancement changes and improves rapidly.
It all depends on the serious of graphics engine, and sophistication of a game.

In terms of build quality: as long as you take care of it, it should last you that long. Variables exist and things do happen, but these are otherwise fairly reliable laptops.

In terms of performance: About 2 - 3 years sounds about right. Beyond that and you should still be able to play games at medium settings, but high or ultra will most likely be too much for it.

What kind of games? You'll probably be able to run next-gen solitaire for the next decade to come but probably not so much for games made by Crytek. There's also the variable on how well you take care of your laptop, whether you clean it out every so often or if you leave it overheated constantly. What kind of FPS are you looking for? 30? 60?

Between 30 and 60 fps, yes. I will take good care of the laptop so I think it should last more than enough time.
