Are you using your dedicated GPU or is it switching correctly to integrated? Monitor your CPU usage, it is a bit too low for what it is expected. I would assume such model would get at the very least 2 hours.

How can I verify that it's not on (and make it switch to) integrated? I thought it'd be doing that by default.

Well I fixed the issue. Had to update the battery controls on device manager, the intel graphics driver and the killer networking drivers. The ones that came with the computer were outdated :(

It happens, drivers update constantly, so it is normal you get an older version pre installed. Glad to see you fixed the issue :)

The logo on the back uses the leaking light from the lcd back light.

Sorry guys just saw this. It's much better now, though I don't think there's an improvement from previous models.

As a point of reference, I can watch Netflix over wifi on power saving mode at 50%ish brightness for 3hr-3.5hrs

That sounds a lot more reasonable.

    3 ~ 3.5 hours isn't bad at all.

    Hi

What do you mean by battery control?

Are using Intel driver 4300 now? Pretty sure it's not 4259 or 4279 as those are pretty buggy with windows 10 and Edge. Killer 9.0.0.31?

If you are not having the same very short battery life issues I would not worry about it.

Seems like quite long battery life if running in streaming video or multimedia watch purpose.
congrats that you've solved the problem by updating drivers.
