    Greetings All

    The equipment:
    2016 MSI GS43VR-6RE
    i7-6700
    GTX 1060
    Drives:
Original boot drive - 128GB with Windows 10. Replaced summer 2018 with Intel SSDPEKNW010T8 M.2 NVMe 1TB drive with clean install of W10. Now trying to replace with ADATA XPG SX8100 M.2 NVMe 2TB with clean install of W10 build Oct 2020.
Original data drive - 1TB drive replaced summer 2018 with Seagate Mobile HDD 2 TB.
Other notes: BIOS is version 109, firmware is version 104

Problem: The new ADATA 2 TB drive is not recognized as a boot drive. The BIOS sees it, and if I boot to Windows using a different drive then Windows sees it. But when using it as the sole drive in the GS43, it will go to BIOS and not any further. To really rub my nose in it, if I install the ADATA M.2 in an MSI Z370 desktop motherboard I have, it boots up to Windows perfectly.

Random information that may or may not help: Since replacing the original boot M.2 with the 1TB Intel, every 2nd or 3rd boot (cold or hot) would stall at the MSI logo with no spinning wheel and no drive LED flashing (and could stay like that for days). It would resolve with a power button restart. Also, since replacing the original boot drive Windows update would never complete, so I was running with a 2018 build. I thought it was the Windows update issues that I see so much of in forums so I didn't really care until I needed the latest Windows build (which was also the impetus for getting the bigger M.2 while I was at it.)

Please let me know what other information I can provide. Any assistance is appreciated! Thank you!
