Are the only differences in the Phantom Pro-006 and Phantom Pro-069 the Kaby Lake Processor?

Who owns either version and what is your opinion?

    How loud are the fans?

Does it have heat issues? Could those be fixed if I order through HID and get the cool laboratory upgrade?

I've seen a video with a crazy flexy MSI Screen, does the GS43 have that same issue?

    Thanks for the help!

Heat wise, MSi laptops are fine. But repasting still makes a huge difference!
If you're more concerned about quality, MSi never provides top notch quality in its machines, even the high end GT models. It's mediocre to good. Some models might have more screen/keyboard flex than others.

Do you have a recommendation for something comparable to the GS43 but with a better build quality that's close to the same price?

    Thanks

The Razer Blade is more expensive, but overheats like crazy, and the fans kick in frequently.

The Alienware 13 is a tank. A tad bit more expensive but it's one of the only machines that's worth their price. The OLED screen is also near perfect. You can also order one from HID and get a repaste service.

The Gigabit Aero 14 is also one good contender, but quality wise, it's average to good as well.

@SkidrowSKT covered everything. I only want to add the XPS 15 9560 if you can live with a 1050

Temps on the 006 are good while gaming (GPU doesn't typically get hotter than the 70s C), especially if you keep it elevated. Fans are loud while gaming but silent otherwise. You might want to check out the MSI GS43VR Owner's Lounge for more owner impressions; I've written a review of the 006 in that thread here.

How does the 1060 do with 1080p resolutions with gaming? I am really considering picking up a GS43 or even the Alienware 13, but I'm not sure if I want to hold out for something with a 1070 instead.

The Aorus X3 is also an alternative in the 14-inch size-range, but it is quite a bit more expensive.

I'm not sure if you're looking for the lowest price, or the best cross of power and portability, but there is supposed to be a GS63VR (the 15-inch version) coming with a GTX 1070 at some point in the next few months as well.

1060 is slower than 980M SLI - it performs about 10-20% better than a single 980M

The 1060 is fantastic for 1080p gaming, you can play most current games on max or near-max settings at 60fps.

Thanks that helps. I'm not sure that I am prepared to downgrade from the 980m SLI in that case. I might need to move into a 1070 at minimum.

Had both and the Alienware 13R3 build quality is awesome. MSI feels flimsy and screen flex is major reason I returned mine. OLED is unreal and once you game on a Oled screen. Hard to go back to anything else
