So I got my knew MSI GE72 2QF, and I noticed there are 2 recovery partitions. One of the SSD (m.2) and one of the HDD.
The one on the HDD is considerably larger, so I'm assuming this is the one that "matters". My question is, since I'm removing the HDD and putting in a large SSD instead, can I clone the recovery partition over to the small OS m.2 drive, which I do not intend to remove, and have it all still working?
Thanks in advice for all your help.

my experience is use the MSI tool to make recovery DVD/USB drive > remove HDD > use recovery unit to recover, in this way the recovery partition will goes to your original SSD.

Yes use the recovery on your new drive, it will be easier.

Once the first step is done, then go ahead and leave the only drive connected to the system but disconnect the rest, this way you can be sure that the OS will be restored onto the intended drive, then use the Recovery disc to boot into recovery mode to restore the OS onto your new drive. -
