    Hi,

I'm having a bit of an issue with my laptop and just wanted to know the best course of action to take to fix it.

For some reason over the past couple of days my charger port hasn't been working. Having played around with things I'm 100% sure it's the port not the charger. The port itself is reasonably well secured in (I know sometimes they can be completely broken off).

I'm more than happy to open up the laptop myself to fix it, or send it off if need be, but I have a few questions regarding the inside before opening it.

I know some laptops have a cable out from the motherboard with the connector on the end, whilst others have the port directly soldered onto the motherboard. Anyone know which kind the GE70 (or I guess any of the MSI Gaming Series laptops) has?

Also, does anyone know where I could get the replacement part from? Directly from MSI?

I'm from the UK if that helps.

    Thanks in advance,
    James

The contact from the jack to the PCB could be melted thus losing connectivity even though the jack might had felt firm and secured to you.
The only solution is to resolder the connectivity to restore its condition.
