My brand new laptop has disturbing sound coming from between under the touchpad and left speaker. (Probably from 2.5" hdd)

When the room has no sound I can hear it very well in High Performance Mode, the other power options are acceptible but if you listen you can hear it anyways.

Its like the sound at 20secs

Its almost a week old. Is this a common problem or should i sent it to service.

Not sure if it helps, but maybe this has the sound in question in better quality? Datacent's database has been useful in my experience with WD - it's at least worth a try.

Though an RMA might not be a terrible idea.

    Here's a better solution:
Keep this HDD and make it external, and replace it with a 2.5" SATA SSD. SSDs are ultra quiet!

I couldn't find it there but its like the when you bring something electrical near to speakers you hear sounds its like that but less disturbing.

    That is not a solution.

Request for RMA for hard drive only, let them know that you can't be without your PC.
Do ask politely since this request isn't a standard procedure.
