Hi guys, I would like to ask for some help.
MSI GE62MVR 7RF won't detect the GPU in device manager anymore. Nvidia drivers can't install because the GPU is not detected.
Tried reinstalling fresh Windows 10 a few times, installing drivers from MSI, installing drivers from windows update (chipset, management engine, SSE, SCM etc.). Also tried updating BIOS and EC, downgrading BIOS and EC to oldest. Inspected motherboard but no obvious signs of damage, no water damage or burns, looks mint.
One thing brought some results:
Went to BIOS advanced settings -> System Agent configuration -> PEG -> enabled PEG 0:1:0 Root Port
Device manager now shows Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3 1200/1500 v5 6th Gen Intel(r) Core(TM) PCIe Controller (x16) - 1901 with error.
Error: Device won't start (Code 10) The status of the ACPI-powerobject is unchanged.

HWiNFO also shows something new after turning on the PEG Port: HWiNFO Sees Intel Skylake/Kaby Lake/Coffee Lake - PCI Express x16 Controller, which lists: PCI Express x16 Bus #1 [J6B2].
HWiNFO says Maximum Link Speed --> 8.0 GT/s x16 Gen3. This matches exactly the PCI-E lane/bridge/thing to the GPU on the circuit diagram, BUT there is no GPU listed under PCI-Express x16 Bus#1 [J6B2]. (picture of other laptop for reference)

So by this I assume the PCI lane or bridge to the GPU is detected but the GPU won't turn on or something. Anyone have an idea how to solve the error 10 before I'm gonna blast some hellfire on the GPU to attempt a reflow? Maybe I missed a BIOS setting or so?
Other interesting information:
More people have the same problem with MSI laptops. GPU vanishes into oblivion at some random point to be undetectable (maybe Windows Update screws things up?). However, MSI laptops with a physical Mux/GPU switch can be fixed. Physical Mux switch makes the GPU detectable again IF the drivers for the switch are working. But a lot of MSI laptops are "muxless" or automatic switching. So maybe is there any possibility to switch manually? The MUX switch on the laptops can be switched with EC RAM editing but does that also work on Muxless MSI laptops?
People who had the same problem:
- Case 1: (GT73VR 7RF TITAN PRO (Mux))
Could not detect GPU for a while. Fixed by installing driver for physical GPU/Mux switch, by which the physical switch made the GPU detectable again. Nvidia Driver could then detect the GPU and install the drivers.

- Case 2: (GS63VR (Muxless))
Guy wakes up in the morning and GTX 1070 GPU went missing (not detected anymore). Tried DDU, intel drivers, bios en EC firmware. No fix yet.

- Case 3: (MSI GV62-8RD (Muxless))
Everything was working with no issues. Guy noticed outdated drivers, decided to update BIOS VBIOS EC, uninstalled GPU drivers with DDU. Next thing GPU went on permanent vacation and has never been able to get detected again after numerous attempted fixes.

- Case 4: (MSI ge73 Raider RGB 8RF (Muxless))
Guy updates EC firmware and GTX 1070 vanishes into the shadow realm to never return. Someone in the comments has a similar problem with a MSI P65 Creator 8RF

There are more similar cases like these, the ones with physical Mux switch can detect the GPU again but the Muxless have no way yet to detect. Another possibility could be that the GPU's are fried but I want to try more before I give up. Hope someone has an idea.

here is OPTIMUS ?
impossible set native PCIE " x0-gen1" no signal
only way is
,.,.cmos reset or EC reset ,.other is hwdefect ???
cmos - 30-45S power button when nb run
EC - small button under NB "fully shutdown off machine + no AC " -30s or 2x "30s,.,.30s"
both resets when working - longer boot .,,blinking diodes .,,.or you're doing it wrong -
driver from your picture - chipset drivers

cmd
setupchipset -overall
.,.,or normal EXE installation
edit ,. my kabylake "gt75 7re"
Intel(R) PCIe Controller (x16) - 1901
10.1.7.4 -
all gpu switch on MSI - EC chip
NATIVE - GT series .,,others is OPTIMUS "around 6-8TH"
new machine - DRAGON /general - gpu mode
//edit GE62VR 7RF Apache Pro "gtx1060"
E16JBIMS.31 BIOS /16JBEMS1.10D EC
optional is vbios "HDCP repair" - 86.06.6F.00.5AALast edited: Aug 1, 2021
