I am seeing reports that the MSI GX640 offers a "semi-gloss" type screen which reduces glare in bright environments. Can anyone who owns the MSI GE600 verify whether it has the same screen type? I personally can't stand glossy screens.

To further complicate the situation, MSI specs indicate that their laptops come with a TFT Super Glare screen. Now, I have no idea what that is, but it sounds scary, like a mirror. Why would they market a product as such?

The GE600 (MS-1675) Has a LED backlit Glossy Screen. Same gloss finish as the GX640 screen.

i generally prefer matte monitors, but the ge600 screen has bright, vibrant colors that "pop" more than my matte desktop monitors. the glossy screen only bothers me with reflections outside during the day, but i do not perceive that it is any better or worse than any other glossy screen in that regard. reflection has not been an issue indoors.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and bought the MSI GE600. Great laptop! I love everything about it, but I might go ahead and get a ViewGuard for it.

i have been debating between viewguard and photodon ag screens. i have read good reviews about both companies and cannot find anything to make one stand apart from the other.

City Hunter, any updates on your GE600 experience? Also, how well is "really really well" on SC2? I'm kinda leaning towards this model over the GX cuz of battery life possibilities.
