I discovered today that random keys on my keyboard suddenly stopped working. After contacting MSI customer support I was told I'd need to ship my laptop to them since they don't send out replacement parts. I'd much rather deal with the problem myself so I was wondering if someone could tell me if either of these will work as a replacement. If someone knows where to get one for cheaper than $60 shipped that would also be nice. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, I had the same issue with MSI. I asked if I could just buy a keyboard from them instead of shipping the laptop and they said they can't sell items like that because they're not "line" items or something. Funny because they did manage to sell me a heatsink for the GX640 a few months back. Anyway, RK is the only reseller I've seen that carries these as well. If you want you can always install one of the gaming keyboards like the GX640 has but the chiclet probably has a better feel. Here's one for $40 ON E-bay. Should work on yours. Only thing is, this is the older version so the red accented keys look more burgundy than bright red like the newer models. RK also has the newer gaming keyboard for $53.99. Good luck. MSI parts are hard to come by.

Thanks for the reply. I just bought the chiclet keyboard since that's (as far as I can tell) the stock ge-600 keyboard. RK was also selling it on ebay and the shipping was a couple dollars cheaper so at least I got that.
