    Hi all,

This week I have had Virgin Media Broadband installed hoping to get the huge speed of 120mb to be let down on Monday with a dwindling speed of 55-65mb...

I called Virgin media today and they told me to test it on another laptop, so I tested it on my Macbook and got the full 120mb which is really bizarre so he got me to check my network cards speed and it says 100mb on it which he then said I should upgrade my network card inside the laptop...

This leads me to my few points:

Is it possible to upgrade the network card inside this laptop?
If so, where would I order one from and are there any guides out there to help me do this?

I just don't understand that if I this laptop can get speeds of 100mb, why am I missing out on the other 40?

The router is a modem as well so I don't understand why it's causing so much hassle.

I've just uninstalled the Killer LAN Bigfoot driver and software, is it possible to install the driver without installing the software as my friend had a motherboard that had the Killer LAN Bigfoot ethernet on it and he said the software caused nothing but problems.

Quick bump... Does anyone know the answer to my question above?

If I can't install the driver standalone, I'll give my computer a quick format and see if that makes a difference

    1. Yes, it's 10/100/1000 BASE-T for the integrated LAN, and the WLAN supports 802.11N speeds.

    2. Yes, you can install just the driver without the suite/interface. You need to install it through Device Manager via right clicking on the device, click update driver, then navigate the prompt to wherever the driver is located on your PC.

Well I've reformatted now and I am still only receiving 60mb for some reason... I'm gonna look at getting a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter and test that way.

You can test with a USB 2.0 adapter just fine, as it supports up to 480Mb/s. :)

The Killer suite is causing this problem.
    1. Download the latest version from the website below.
Killer Gaming :: Support :: Driver Download Support

    2. Go to Control Panel, Uninstall a program, uninstall Qualcomm Killer Network, and reboot.

    3. Install, reboot, and try again.
