    Hi,

    I was considering this notebook: Newegg.com - MSI G Series GE60 0ND-042US Notebook Intel Core i7 3610QM(2.30GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory DDR3 1600 750GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M

The specs are basically just what I'm looking for. However, I'm a little worried about heating and reliability issues because my current laptop has had them by the bucket load.

I would really appreciate some opinions on the heating and reliability of the GE60 when playing some demanding games, and if possible, also on how the service is within the United States when covered under warranty.

    Thank you.

Heat wise it's so-so (i mean most gaming laptops heat up) but believe it or not most (yet to hear common cases of poor ventilation of this laptop) of the GE60/70s remove heat really well.

Games wise I bet you're already read about the issue with the drivers but hopefully they'll get it right soon but other than that everything works great.

US has a 2 year warranty + 1 year global warranty standard :)

I consider it a fixer-upper. I'm doing hardware mods to mine to get it to run cool.

Then again my standards for "cool" are probably different from most people's.

Well, my current laptop freezes and needs to be shut down while playing demanding games. I'm guessing the MSI isn't as bad.

Well... when gaming the laptop will get slightly hot... but you wont feel it...

At 80oC the fan gets to 100% it is a little noisy but... thats what gaming on a laptop is...

I heard that Asus laptop are a little more silent.. but more expensive...

I like my GE60... can play Starcraft 2 maxed out :)
