The Asia website is usually pretty up to date. Here is the link to it:

I'd like to see how well the 4670 performs compared to the 9600M GT. The screen isn't so good (16" with 1366x768 resolution...ick), but one thing that intrigued me was that it uses a 65W AC Adapter opposed to the GX600/1600 series' 90W. Either that machine has a very low power CPU, or the 4670 is a very power efficient GPU. If it's based on its desktop cousin (Hopefully), then I wouldn't be surprised to see it spec'ed less than 20W TDP. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
i honestly could see the 4670 being equivalent to 9700/9700m gts
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
actually the ati 4000 series IS very powerefficient i heard the 4450 or whatever its called will be one of the best period.
-
They can easily use DDR3 1066mhz and bigger resolution for the screen.
Otherwise the laptop looks to be really one of it's class for now with the mix of GPU, CPU, platform and screen.
Also the weight is only 2.7kgs! (5.9lbs!). Even some 15" 16:10 laptops can't reach 2.7kgs, and what about the 16" ones! The Sony FW series with it's 16" screen is probably the most light weight(it turns aout until now!) 16" 16:9 laptop with it's 3.1kgs(6.8lbs!), but this MSI got huge difference in the weight. Even the new macbook pro with it's 15" is 2.5kgs, wich is so close agains a 16" one(what's more-not Apple one, cause Apple removed several ports to gain this weight+aluminium unibody..!) -
@reddragon
Dude, stop saying things about upcoming releases that you don't know. We would like to see some benchmarks please, then you can talk about the 4450 "being the best period". -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Also you dont have to be a douche about it
You know niki i was looking at the weight myself can you imagine if you threw a SSD in there how light this thing could get? -
Yes, that's what Im talking about. You can't just say things like that. You can say "4670s might be power efficient" not "4670 will be most power efficient period" with no facts to back it up.
-
lol maybe he meant it like the old bill and ted's movie you know like "most excellent" you shouldnt take things so literal man

wish i knew more because im looking now..

Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
i wonder what kinda 3dmark this thing will be pushing i hope its around the 9700m gts becasue that would be perfect for the longest while i've been looking for a powerful 16" notebook and this looks like it i hope if the gateway MC gets an update it gets a 4650/70 because it alreaddy has a 3650 card in there

Ate up the Nvidia Chips like they aint s*** you need more proof? The 9500gt did a little better on graph 2 but guess what? There no such thing as a 9500gt in notebooks so it wouldn't matter anyway. Also look here the 9600gso is murdered so this could probably tackle anything greater then a 9600 from nvidia when this chip goes mobile, so stay down -
I wouldn't necessary start assuming anything yet. For one, we're not even sure if the notebook 4670 will use the same GPU as the desktop version; granted ATi has done so in the past, but you never know, they may 'cheap' out on us and just give us a higher clocked Mobility Radeon 3670 and call it the 4670. Another thing is that I'm pretty sure the notebook version will be downclocked too in order to reduce heat and power consumption. Compare the clock speeds of the notebook and desktop HD 3650, 3850 and 3870; big difference.
Realistically, I see the 4670 matching or doing slightly better than the 9600M GT, but certainly not a blowout. Even so, I'd like to get one to replace mine since my 3D modeling applications are more optimized for ATi cards. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
well thats why i assuemed so TRF because as you stated ati has done so in the past with the desktop version. I think ATI wont go to the 3670 i think they are realizing they getting there butt whooped the funnny thing is realistically they arent losing anything becasuse of the hd3200 and hd3450/70 ATI still has a great lead in the lower end dedicated gpu market though the new macbooks may start to reverse this trend.
Im hoping that the 4670 can at least be a 9700 as that would be good enough because from some articles i read it is apparent that in certain games this card was faster then the desktop 3850! Thats an achievment in itself well i guess just gotta wait and see how this plays out -
The very fact that it has a 128-bit memory bus is crippling enough to go against a Geforce 9700M GTS, but the Geforce 9700M GT is another story and I'm sure based on the performance information on the desktop version the ATI HD 4670 can keep up or beat it.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
how important 256 bit bus is but i thought that most game nowarent utilizing the fill 256 bus is this true? Because im really considering this notebook as on one of those notebooks that i travel around with because i want something thats powerful but that at the same time i can play most games i want on the go.
I have 9800 GTS in my gateway and i love the performance i just hope that in some way if i decide on a 4670 it will be able to run most of the games like the 9800 gts. -

I wish MSI would have stuck with the GX styling for the EX625. Black and grey doesn't look that great.
Another thing: MSI advertising is absolute BS.
Combing Color Film Print Technology with ocean wave patterns in design, the EX625 has been injected with a brand new texture to personal notebook computers.
EDIT: Don't expect too much out of the 4670. judging from MSI's previous GPU choices for the EX600 series, I don't think they are aiming for power. -
About its looks, I don't think it's that bad. Personal preferences my friend, I'm not too fond of the black/red theme myself.
The notebook's everything I've been looking for. 16:9 screen, more than adequate GPU, non-over-the-top styling... too bad I already bought a gaming desktop half a year ago. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
you can always sell the desktop and buy this
i hope they add a red theme to this notebook though realistically that probably wont happen arghh im really interested in the performance though anyone have any news on a release date?

Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
bumpity bump
-
Yo this looks sweet, I wonder if it'll get a T9400 or T9600.
Any idea what the chassis will be like in comparison to GX620? -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
im not too sure about the chassis
There should be more then versions hopefully it will have a really good processor if i find out anything ill post it here -
Actually, I was a little worried about the 620 based on what I read about the spring in the keyboard but I found a local store that just started selling the older T7350 iirc chipped model and I'm assuming the DDR2 Geforce. I mucked about with that for awhile, pushing and squeezing (all the things I wouldn't do to my own unit
) and it's as solid as the reviews say.
That said I'm going to just outfit a barebones 1651 myself, as after converting to $CDN and buying the CPU on ebay I can get an X620 with a T9600, Vista business 64, and a more professional colouring scheme for about fifty dollars more. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Oh yeah, did you do this yet? That sounds awesome
-
I'm only now getting the chassis, I was hoping the the prices would drop a bit after CES and I was really curious about the keyboard on the 16" models. Since they haven't even hit, I'm gonna stick with the 1651, as the new barebones will have a bigger price tag, and I'll be happy enough with maxing it out.
It'll take me awhile to put the parts together anyway, works pretty slow right now.
That said, where are the new models?! I'm surprised that even the custom laptop sites haven't stocked them yet. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Im wondering the same thing......they are taking too long
Im already thinking around then end of the month/February this notebook will finally be out. -
any news of ex625?
-
So.. Is it out?
-
For $749-$800, it's an absolute bargain. -
