    Hey all,

I've been looking around for a new laptop and this one really caught my eye. Frostycomputers carries it for 769.99. At first I was a little skeptical since it's pretty rare to find these specs at that price, but I've done research and checked out the MSI site...this thing looks legit. Thoughts? Only thing I can see that's wrong is the title on Frosty's site, but I think that's a typo.

Yeah, looks like a great buy. MSI is definitely tops for price/performance ratio.

Be careful -- Frosty goofed up that specification. The laptop he actually has is an EX623, not the 625. The EX625 is not available in the U.S.

Look at the picture he provided on the website -- see anything wrong?

I've actually emailed the FrostyComputers seller about the sticker bit. Should hopefully get a reply later in the day, as he/she has been good about replying quickly.
If they are just re-used pictures though, and the EX625 will really be available in the US ( even if only through this one store) it looks like a great buy, save for the low screen resolution. I can definitely live with it though.

Ugh, really? I ordered one yesterday. I've stared at that picture tons of times and not once did I notice the nVidia sticker.

I hope it's not too late to cancel. I don't think those pictures are a mistake.

For your sake, I hope not. Let's see if stickciv can get a response from him.

If it's really an EX625, I would order one too.

I decided to send an e-mail of my own before canceling because I'm impatient (and anxious) like that. >_> As stickciv said, they are very quick with the response as I got a reply in 29 minutes. I asked about the identity crisis, the GPU, and the sticker issue.

I got a response from him as well.
Its coming in today via air, so he should be able to ship it out tomorrow:
He has gmail chat, so if you want to ask any quick questions, you can also do it through that.

Yeah if that's the actual EX625, that's probably one fo the cheapest mid-range GPU laptops around. Even the Asus N81*which has a slightly less powerful HD4650) costs over 1 000$ o_O

I put my order in a little while after posting, and after seeing the replies about how it might be wrong, emailed Frosty too. I got a similar reply, apparently it's the EX625. I'm looking forward to it =D

Eh okay, I'll bite. I was going to get the ASUS Z97V from RKComputers but they took it out, guess this will have to do for now.

If you want, you can wait for one of us who ordered to get it and confirm for you. Or you could email Frosty and ask them yourself.

    Either way, good stuff..

I already paid for it, so if I get an EX623, it'll go back.

The things I do just to get the HD 4670...

The HD4670 is still behind the 256bit GPUs in performance right? It's the HD4830 and HD4860 that will perform nearly on par with 256bit GPUs right?

Right, but it's the king of the 128 bit cards right now. It should perform between the MR HD 3850 and the Geforce 9700M GTS, which isn't bad for a mid-range card. I want to keep the heat and power consumption near what I have right now, and get the performance of a lower-end 256 bit GPU.

I'm replacing the G50VT with it. My girlfriend doesn't like it very much because it's a bit bulky. I'll put the 9600M GT in the EX625 and let her have it.

According to Frosty, he's only got a few so far. The ebay auction had it listed as 6 available, although if demand is high enough he'll get more.
Placing the order for mine now
