    Hello guys.

I searched the forum and didn't find any thread discussing the MSI Dragon Center software.
I want to know if you guys use it? Can we discuss here for what you use, how you use, tips, tricks, etc?

I have problems with Dragon Center ever since I installed it. Now that it's working, I want to mess around to see what it can do.

I'm trying to set different fan profiles. I have configured 3 profiles and assigned a different hotkey for each of them.
But when I press the hotkey, the profile changes, shift changes, true color changes, everything changes, except the fan speeds.
But if I apply the profile directly through the app, not through hotkey, then it works.

Do you have this problem? Can you test for me? How do you use yours?

I'm on latest version of MSI Dragon Center 1.2.1610. 2701 on my GT73VR 6RF.

    Thanks.

I managed to download and install version 1.2.1701.1101, it's working here and it's a little better than the older one I was using.
Fixed the profile hotkey issues and Windows key.

But I still have some problems.
On the Advanced fan settings, there is a glitch on the first CPU fan knob, there is two knobs overriding themselves.

Just ordered MSI GT72VR 7RE DOMINATOR PRO-450 and will have a clean install. Not sure yet if I am going to have Dragon center installed or not. would like to know if yours is working now.

Thank you for your input. Do you know if you lose the functions that are in the app or are they usable as utilities some where else on the machine?

Of course you need Dragon Center.
Without it you can't change fan profiles, OC profiles, and more...

My problem is that the latest version simply won't open here. And my last resort was this Clean Creators Update installation, which did not solve the problem.
I tried contacting MSI support but they say I have to use the image from MSI restore. -.-
And MSI forums is worse, jusst a bunch of people with problems and zero solutions.
    I'm tired of trying.

You don't *need* DGC, in fact it's limiting in that it's set up for newbies and "ease of use". It's nice, it's pretty, it's just "fine", but it's not necessary :)

You can use Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to undervolt and tune HK CPU's (XTU), MSI Afterburner (AB/RTSS) to tune the GPU(s), and Silent Option for fan tuning.

There are going to be times with Windows 10 that stuff just isn't going to work, and vendors are going to have to fix their apps and drivers, etc.

Either wait for MSI to update DGC, or uninstall it and run discrete tools as above.

It's just part of the joy of debugging Windows 10 for Microsoft :)

Personally I no longer use it, mainly because I finally set the settings I am comfortable with. I no longer OC more than what I already have, so I tweaked in BIOS the values I wanted after testing.

It is a good tool to have everything centralized, but otherwise you don't really *need* it. At any rate, having a working DGC is not bad, and in case you want to tweak stuff, it is a direct tool you can use. As hmscott said, you can have other tools too, that perform the same tasks to a higher customization degree.
