I'm debating between a MSI 683 and Sager 8150. I'm just looking for feedback and comments from those that have gotten a chance to play around with both.

In general, which one has the better cooling solution mainly concerning the respective GPU's?

Also, can anyone explain to me how the MSI Cooler Boosting works and how easy it is to adjust on the fly vs. the Sager model. I'm mostly concerned with longevity trying to keep nice, cool temperatures.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I forgot to clarify talking about the MSI GT683DX up above.

As far as i know, the cooler boost can be activated on the fly just pressing a button above the keyboard, but still 1 fan for both CPU and GPU, IMHO that's pretty lame...

I'd prefer Clevo's cooling solution, with 2 independent fans for CPU and GPU, controlled by BIOS... using the ASUS G74SX as an example, it's way cooler than the MSI GT780R while in furmark (something like 75C vs 91C)

Really? Can you link to those results please.

While they dont have separate fans for the CPU and GPU, the heatsinks are separate and the fan larger.

I'd be surprised if the GT780R is worse than mine in terms of cooling.

Hmz, when I looked at my GPU, MSI had used a LOT of paste, so I think that's due to a poor pasting job.

Mine maxes out at 82C once clocked up to the clocks you see down below.

Thanks Luxw, that's exactly what I was wondering.

    Appreciate it.

The cooling is going to be better on the clevos, no real way around it. All copper heatsinks and 2 fans...
