My mom's laptop was finally bumped from Vista to 7, and I thought it would take care of the issues with resuming from standby, but no luck.

When the system is resumed from standby, it freezes up, eventually giving a BSOD talking about power state failure or something (wife saw the BSOD, I didn't). BIOS has been updated to latest, all drivers in use are courtesy of MSI.

Any thoughts on what I could be missing that's screwing this thing up? Given that it's survived a couple formats, and it's all different drivers than it ran before, I've got to think it's hardware.

Can you try to reinact the problem? then try and get hold of the bsod codes etc etc? might be best to track the issue that way, but it could be anything, from drivers, to plain old 7 being stupid.
