My 3 year old GT73VR came with a USB drive that has recovery data on it but, as that is rather old, I wanted to create an updated version. After all, I have just reinstalled Windows and updated all drivers so it makes sense.

I opened the Burn Recovery software and ran the ISO creation option first, thinking I could use Rufus to burn the ISO to a fresh USB drive afterwards. This resulted in it creating 5 DVD ISO's instead of a single one with which to create a bootable USB. So, I opened the software again and selected the USB option. As soon as I click NEXT, the software crashes. I tried several times, always with the same result.

Does anyone know if there's a way to merge the ISO's it created or perhaps there's a newer version of the Burn Recovery software (I couldn't find one on MSI's site)?

So the best solution is to use Windows backup option and install MSI drivers separately? But if I do that surely I will lose the MSI theme.

If Burn Recovery is part of the Dragon Center, would it not be better to install the latest version of that?

    1.2.1910.3101
last for your system "HW 7TH"

and BACKUP is possitible "exists some external apps" for partition backup
or DISM -image clone or similar usage "GOOGLE"

it's hard to translate everything :D try find guide on GOOGLE

Personally, I don't think it's necessary,.,.even if the system is very stuck .,,install windows on same disk "no formatted" like upgrade
all is in C/windows.old .,,.or repair from windows installation on USB

    C/windows.old
when use old app directory "program files" + appdata "users/customization" ,.,same system in 30min + all clean "working"
+ last drivers "best finding drivers after installation" ,.,.,any old backup is for nothing??

I haven't experienced a big problem with windows in a really long time
windows rescue point works fine for mine :p

    ,.,.edit CONTROLER
must be best version for you chipset model / mode "AHCI or RST"
or oem drives most time create this corruption !

    CMD
    chkdsk c: /r

    disk repair /maintenance

    edit
when use any storage upgrade + nvme drivers / FW from manufacturer
+ check S.M.A.R.T. -- here is info about SSD STATUS
+ EVENT VIEWER -- here check storage errors

I installed HWinfo as you suggested. My PC skills are not advanced enough to be able to understand the results of its scan. :(

I don't think this machine has a RAID configuration because it has a single 256 Gb SSD and a single 1 Tb HDD.

I always use Macrium Reflect on my machines so, there really isn't any need for creating any further recovery tools. I use Reflect to create 2 separate images: one of Windows only and one of all my data. The Windows full image is updated once a week so that Windows updates are included, and the data images are updated daily as differentials with a weekly incremental. Reflect has its own recovery options via both hard drive and Windows PE on a USB drive.

,..,some SATA controllers // or NVME drivers "works from windows installation" basic drivers ,,,but this all time create problems "on GT75 + raid0 ,.,.example"
    https://www.howtogeek.com/123646/ht...ndows-event-viewer-is-and-how-you-can-use-it/
SYSTEM/volmananager .,., or disk error verification is all time possible for bad drivers! ,.,or system random freeze

    backup
GOOGLE any "partition" backup guide - or your SW when it works well, or DISM "" clone of the system ""
Macrium Reflect ,? this is the topic in WINDOW TOPICS here
