Hey guys, I exchanged my MSI 780dx Laptop today at the local store as it was causing me issues. Since I had to reformat and start over I decided to purchase two Intel 522 120GB and run them in raid. However I have experienced a few problems:

    1) This laptop does not seam to be Raid 0 eligible as it says on the box. In the bios setup the I only get two options for the SATA Drives IDE & something else can't remember. I have no decided to just run both hard drives not in raid 0, as I do use my laptop for work and I heard it may only beneficial for large files 80 gb +. Can anyone please confirm if my laptop is just not Raid 0 Capable ?

    2) I installed all drivers & utilities on the disk however the P1 button will not work. It used to trigger some intel software which worked really well in conjunction with MSI Afterburner, can anyone help me out there please?

    3) I can't seam to get my realtek Audio driver to output in 5.1 7.1 or quadrophonic. I know I had this issue before however I can't remember how I resolved it. Any help here guys?

If anyone could please point me in the right direction to solve any of the above issues it would be greatly appreciated!

Everything you need is in this post.

You need to have the 30H BIOS installed to get the option for RAID. Set the RAID, then you can do a clean install as normal.

Please make sure you have a backup of the factory reinstall partition if you haven't done so already.

The webcam uses native WIN 7 drivers, so no need to fool with this. Also, the webcam is 'off' by default, so press Fn + F6 to activate it. Install any webcam software and you should be in business.

Anytime you add new drives, update SSD firmware or do a clean OS installation it's a good idea to reset the cmos first by removing the re/black wire for about 2 minutes..This allows the drive to resynch its internal tabling to Windows.

An original Windows installation DVD or a USB flash drive made from an untouched Windows ISO are best for doing clean installations.Burnt DVDs cause the most bad installations.

With the bios set to AHCI use the Windows 7 installation media to format and delete all partitions on each of the drives to be used in the raid array at the screen that has the disk options .Format and delete will leave only one partition on each drive.

There's no need to do full formats.

After both disks are cleaned, reset the bios to raid, save and on reboot press CTRL and I to enter the RAID setup.

After you choose the settings for your array reboot again and choose Custom clean installation.

At the ADD DRIVER screen the f6flpy version of the Intel RST must be installed from a USB stick that has the files in an uncompressed folder.

After the RST has been installed continue the Windows 7 installation.

During the 1st reboot of the installation remove both USB flash drives if you installed the OS and RST from USB flash drives.

When the OS installation completes procede with drive, utility and software installations.
