Hi all, first post here. I noticed on Newegg that some of the MSI laptops support having an msata SSD and a HDD, so I was looking through them, and found that many of the models are similar, but have less ram whatever. I was going to settle for a 14in model with less than HD resolution, when I noticed a nice 17.3in model with full HD resolution, but it only came with a hard drive (( MSI GT Series GT70 2OC-065US Newegg.com - MSI GT Series GT70 2OC-065US Intel Core i7 4700MQ(2.40GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD 17.3" Notebook Win 8 Multi-language )).

My question is, can I install one or even two msata SSD's in this model, does it have a raid option somewhere in the BIOS with raid 1 (mirror), and of lesser concern, can I upgrade the ram later? I've read about manufacturers soldering in RAM nowadays, but ram upgrade is about my least concern.

I am more than open to opinions on other models as well.
    Thanks!

That model can support two satalll 2.5'' hdd or ssd, no msata capability.

You're not going to get into the msata version for less than $1500, you can upgrade the ram on any model at any time. The gt model doesn't have anything soldered, you can replace the cpu and gpu if they go out.

Ah, thank you. I was wondering if the MSI GT Series GT70 2OC-017US, or any of the dual SSD models support Raid 1 (Mirroring)
