    MSI 171F,Has anyone had a problem with the dc power board?Mine works fine on battery,but not with ac adapter,I was wondering if the dc power board off a MSI L720 woud work ?They all look like would work.

    I found spare DC jacks in ebay.
    Most likely the DC jack is lose or wiggles. very common in laptops due to stress of the power cable and abuse.

    To replace DC jack the motherboard most be taken out of the chassis.
    and the DC jack most be un-soldered and a new on soldered on.

    Mark121, Thanks for the reply a have already replaced the DC jack, I have just bought a dc power board from a msi l720 i hope it works.(hasn't come yet) I also have a few msi 17" clones that seem to have the same power boards in them,(however I have six defferent part numbers) all are working just fine. all the parts from the clones are about the same cases covers ect.I would like to know what the difference is between all these DC Power Boards.
