    MSI 1651ID3 Powers on but blank screen

    I have just tried booting for the first time. What happens is a blue light will come on but the screen remains blank

    I heard this problem before.. Could be the GPU, is there a warranty on it?? My friend had one and the gpu was bad.. Did the same thing.

    try diffrent drivers or wont it come on at all, the display I mean?

    Well, MS-1651 is a barebone component. Did you assembled it? I mean did you put it all together - CPU, RAM, HDD, Wireless. You didn't mention that I thought you might not know that.
    If there is no CPU the laptop will not post. So it will only turn on the lights on it.

    Yeah I installed everything , I found the issue I was having the cpu was not locked fully actually posting on the new machine now. thanks for the help and feedback all who posted.

    Thats great, Thank god it wasnt the GPU. The 1651 works really good, Let us know what you think of it..

    ok I love this machine better than what I expected
    This is what I installed in it and it works great
    T9400
    WD 320g 7200 RPM
    Kingston HyperX PC6400 800 DDR2 Ram
    Intel wifi 5300
    I will most certainly keep going the MSI Route for now.
