Hey guys, wondering what temps you guys are getting for the 1651. I am currently getting 46.2C for the CPU and 59C for GPU at light use (web browsing, word, etc.).

    CPU - T7300
GPU - 9600M GT official Nvidia Drivers

It seems a little high compared to others. I have AS5 on both CPU and GPU. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I fixed the problem. Seemed like PowerMizer was ON by default with XP Home. Just turned it off with PowerMizer switch. Now it's running at 25~30 / 47~42.

Well, the CPU temps are fine. I am more worried about the GPU, which should not be affected by what the CPU. Of course, the CPU does consume 10W more than Pxxxx, but should the difference be that big?

I have the MSI gx630. I've caught it at 85c cpu and almost 80c gpu playing crysis. (speedfan)

It is worth bringing up that the cpu and gpu share the same heatsink/fan, and may inherit some cpu heat or vice/versa.

I'm thinking till I get a good cooler the overclock button is "entertainment purposes only" as I hear it throttles down if too hot.

FEAR 2 demo ran smooth, scary, and a bit cooler.

I fixed it. Some system problem. Now they are around 35 CPU and 40 GPU for light use and 50 / 60 for load.

Nvidia's PowerMizer is off on AC for XP, by default. Just download the PowerMizer Switch to turn it on, and that will underclock the GPU.

underclocking does not seem like a good fix for a heat issue...
maybe your card is seated wrong or something?

What are you talking about? I do not have a heat issue. The underclocking simply allows the GPU to relax instead of going full blast at all times. PowerMizer is a program for GPUs in general, it is not specifically designed for MSIs or what-nots.
