    Hi everybody.

Well I've read about 15 different topics and found lots of different opinions on the matter and I still can't make up my mind as to which display I'd rather get with my new laptop.

I more or less know the pros and cons of each so I don't really need those but I was hoping to get a more real life user opinion on this screen itself and not just gloss vs matte in general. For example is the matte screen on this model any good? is it bright? good color etc? or on this model is the glossy screen a lot better?

Again looking for real life exp with this model and screen and not a debate on matte vs gloss in general.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me. :D

It seems you haven't got any answers in a long time. If it is still useful, here is my experience:

I got the MS-1651 from XoticPC, the one with the matte WSXVGA. In my experience, my only quabble is that it is not bright enough. Even my old Dell Inspiron 8200 (a 6 year old laptop) has a brighter matte screen.

Other than that, no problem. Because I work a lot outdoors, a glossy screen makes my eyes hurt from all the reflections and I've found I need a matte screen. This one, I would say, just barely cuts it. No intense extraneous reflections, but the screen is sometimes hard to read because it is not bright enough.

Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

I don't mind my glossy screen since I am always indoors when using my laptop. The only downside I have seen is it seems to show finger prints or any streaks in cleaning more.

Glossy looks the best when you have optimized light settings, but Matte is better anywhere else

I also think the matte screen is a bit too dim. If I could bump it up even one more notch it would be perfect, but it isn't quite there. However, working in a class or office with a bunch of fluorescent lights it looks much better than the glossy counterpart (I have had both).
