Hey all,
I just got my 1651 today but am having big problems. So I try and install vista, but it hangs at the completing installation phase. I try a few more times, then google the problem. Turns out that if AHCI is enabled, there can be problems. So I try to disable it, but the bios says it's view only. Here's where it gets interesting, on boot, it used to Tell me I could press F11 to load the boot menu. I've used it before to install vista. I doesn't show up anymore. I can't press F11 to get the boot menu. I need to enter the boot menu to load the new 1.08 bios from a USB stick I made. I can't even change the boot priority in the bios, it says "View only".
How do I get it all back? Restoring setup defaults says view only as well.

Halfway fixed it, pulled the red and black wire, powered, and replugged to reset bios. Will try from here.

Maybe try to install or re-install thelatest BIOS? Can't hurt as you can'y do crap with your nb right now as it sounds...
(I'd try messing with the BIOS settings IF you can get in first though, as BIOS flashing isn't exhilirating when entirely unneccessary... or something or other...)
Side tip: go to the MSI user-to-user forums and figure out how to make a USB bootable stick and do the flash from that! (Worked for me twice!) (... and floppies are about as common as bubonic plague today...unless you eat rodents ....)
[EDIT]
Also try setting BIOS RAID setting to IDE.. I forget what it's called now since I have no nb...
[/EDIT]
