    Will an MSI 1651 9 Cell work in an MSI 1656/GX640 ? I know it's basically the same chassis but some Compal notebooks for example have the problem where the extended battery wont work in the updated revision of a laptop that uses the same/a very similar chassis.

    If the contacts are arrange the same and the older battery provides 19V DC it's gonna be all right

    I used a 9 cell battery from a Compal Hel80 on a MSI GT627 and it worked fine.
    I think the battery fall under VBI verified by intel.
