I purchased a MSI 1039 awhile ago, and it has run pretty well. Right now I am having a problem with it intermittently scrolling down. I believe my down arrow key is having a problem. It randomly scrolls down, through text or a web browser or things like that a few lines at a time. I've removed the key, looked at it, stuck it back. I don't really know what to do or how to fix it. There isn't any observable debris in the way or something blatently wrong. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Are you sure your hand isn't brushing down on the scroll zone in the touchpad? Try disabling the touch pad and seeing if it still does it. If it doesn't do it anymore, you just gotta make sure your hand doesn't touch the pad while typing. If it still messes up, I don't know what to do.

No, it isn't brushing down the scrollpad. I have actually just sat there and watched my computer scroll down, without touching the computer at all. I really think it is the down button. I unpluged my external mouse, clicked in a text file to make sure that the mouse wasn't scrolling down. Instead of scrolling down screens like you would with the scroll wheel or scroll zone on the touch pad it moved the cursor down through the text, like the down arrow does.

You dont happen to be around a TV when this is happening are you? I was sitting by the TV with my MS-1039 and when my father used the remote control, my screen would scroll down. It wouldnt happen all the time; only if my computer was in a certain spot in relation to the remote signal. I have absolutely no idea why this could happen... but it definitely did lol.

No, not near a tv but near a big LCD monitor. My laptop lives next to my desktop, probably about 1 foot away from it. Thats really the only other piece of electronic equipment near it.
