I just got my 1029, and its great but I have had one little problem and I wonder if anyone else has this? It appears that the left button on the touchpad requires i press down a lot harder than the right button. At first, I thought it wasnt working (which it might not of been, but it seemed maybe it got better?) Anyways, it makes it a bit difficult to double click items and such. Anyone experience this? If so, any ideas or suggestions?

i dont have that problem.. i found the asus w3v's trackpad buttons harder to press.
maybe some wearing down of the button it will be better to press on. -
IF anyone has any general suggestions or ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

sammino, where did you buy this from? Since MSI sells barebone machines maybe that place put it together a little wrong when assembling the notebook. If orijin says the mouse buttons are not a problem you can assume there's something wrong with yours, so either attempt to take off the keyboard yourself and take a look or tell the place you got it from there's a problem and request that they fix it.

yeah, it seems that the button has gotten a litte less stiff.. I am not sure if its partially my imagination from clicking so much but it seems to be a ltitle looser lol..

Resellers do not assemble the touchpad/buttons on a barebones unit from MSI. That being said, if the issue does not correct itself the barebones can be replaced or repaired to resolve the issue.

compared to the asus w3v.. the trackpad clicker on the msi 1029 would be considered loose lol.

It appears the buttons are looser a tiny bit but here is what I am experience and maybe you guys have some more input: when the right button is pressed down until you here the click sound, there is an action (right mouse button). For the left button, when you press down until you here the click sound, nothing happens. If you put a little more pressure while still pressing the button you see an action occur. if while still pressing the button down you release a tiny bit of pressure (but still have the button down beyond the click point), the buttons action stops.
If I try to just click it like normal (without pressing gently till the click sound but a normal click), the left button always requires more pressure than what the right button requires.
I hope that makes some sense -
You are so **** lucky. I got my 1029 a few days ago, and i have to return it... The hinges that hold the screen make alotta noise, when opeing or closing the LCD. This is not suppost to be like this. I know MSI laptops dont do that. I should be getting my replacement soon.
