Last week I saw a post on here where some one had the Live Update tool from MSI on thier machine and it said there was a new BIOS available for the 1029. I thought cool, followed the link and loaded Live Update on my 1029. Live update said that there was a VGA BIOS update available. I left my computer on over the weekend and it loaded the VGA BIOS update (I think). Now when I try to boot I get to the Windows with the moving task bar and no further. Safe mode won't load and niether will last known good configuration. I was going to do a Windows repair but when I boot from the Widows CD I get all the way to the Windows is starting part and no further.

My question is does anyone have a link to the VGA BIOS that shipps with the 1029 or could you mail it to me? I can't seem to find one on the MSI site. Also I would need instructions on how to manually install the BIOS.

I am away from home as I write this and will have spotty camputer access for the next few days. If I do not respond to your questions immediatly thats why.

    Thank you for your help.

Try completely unplugging the battery and powercord for fifteen seconds and plugging them back in.

Can you check your BIOS settings to see if anything's changed?

Unplugging the laptop and taking the battery out has resolved my problem. I see from the other thread that I am not the only one that has had this problem. Hopefully MSI can resolve this issue. Thank you for your help.
