    MSI 1022 and VISTA RC2

    Just installed vista RC2 on my 1022. It runs quite smoothly. :) However, can't turn on the aero effect. :confused:

    Has anyone tried vista on 1022? Could you turn on the aero effect?

    You probably will not get Aero to run on this model, it uses turbo cache which is not enough dedicated memory for the effect.

    The specs are here for vista and there is a utility you can run to confirm which versions will function

    Did you run the Windows experience index? I believe that in order for Aero to work, it should be run and atleast have a base score of over 3.0 for Aero to run.

    RC1 worked with it, RC2 does not...curious.

    There's probably a way to jack up that experience score a bit...hmmm

    It scored at 1.0 and my old 915 score is 1.0 as well. 6200 should be much better than 915.

    I was trying latest drivers as the one on MSI website is 75 something. But every later version come up with black screen.

    Now the only thing I can do is wishing that MSI will updating their driver.

    I got it to score much higher than 1.0,but it still didn't work w/ Aero. Still working though. Switched focus to my desktop-in-progress at present.
