I tried to post these questions in the owners lounge but, it wouldn't let me.

I just received my MS-1762 and had a couple of questions about it. What are some of the things I should do now that I have it so that it is just as good as the GT70. I already have an SSD installed along with a second hard drive. I’ve installed Windows 7 and all of the drivers. Should I also update the bios? I’ve seen a thread that it is possible but it seems to be talking about a couple of different models. I just want to make sure that it can be done without bricking my new laptop. Also, when I push FN-F1 is that the same thing as pushing the turbo button on the GT70?

I've looked at Intel XTU and it says that I don't have turbo. Would this be fixed if I flashed the bios? Also the power light doesn't change color when the system switches between the Nvidia card and the intel card. I'm betting this is because it doesn't actually have the LEDs to do this like the MSI GT70. Can anyone verify this?

You can update the BIOS if I remember correctly, but unless you're running into a known issue where only updating the BIOS will resolve it, it's not necessary.

That model comes with an i3 Sandy Bridge processor, right? i3 CPUs do not support Turbo Boost, unfortunately. So flashing the BIOS will not unlock Turbo Boost for you.

I'm not 100% sure on the LED, but I believe that model does not use a separate LED for notification on which graphics chip it's utilizing. Someone else will have to confirm that for you though, as my memory is a little hazy (and is experiencing under-utilization from 5 hours of sleep :p)

Sorry, I just now found that someone had responded to my post.

The MS-1762 that I bought came with ivy and the I-7 processor. I was mistaken about the turbo. It does have turbo but, it is separate from the MSI turbo. The MSI turbo only affects the GPU and you are right about the indicator. The bare bones doesn't have the indicator.

The MSI turbo when I turn it on changes the speed of the GPU by 15. It this correct or is something not working right? I get something like 770 base when the turbo is on and 755 when it's off.
