Well i was debating this for a while to see if it was worth it, but since i have now sold my desktop unit this is now my everything rig and will be for a while , so it needed more grunt.

Currently i have the Core i7 720QM 1.6/2.8 , i decided on going all out and getting the i7 920XM just cause i can really, and it will be close to what i had in my desktop

    - Will be posting TEMPS and Install and all benchmarks once its in.

nice! Then we guys can compare cpu scores to see whether our good old qx9200 is of any match to the XM.
Btw the heat will increase, so plan some mods to remove 10w additional heat.

I was going to go with the i7-920xm qs version cause they looked cheap but found a price for the i7-720qm OEM with 4GB of 1066 ram for a grand price of $250.

Still might upgrade in a bit, Ill be watching your info.

Well done on the pricing  , cant wait to get the 920 i have a feeling i might need to use a nice cooling mat to maintain this for everyday use and longevity.

Just when you install it and power it on, look around at your neighbours. If they don't have power at their homes, you'll know why! :D :D :D
But look at the bright side of it - you can sell your battery, because there will be no use of it :D :D :D

Like I had somewhere I feel blessed by having the older GT725's, we have Qx9200 ES for about say $250 and it matches 920XM, which should be $800-$1000.

The thing is mobile CPU tend to be expensive, wish for some ES models, lol :p

    In a good way!
Would love to see how this chassis handles the temps on this laptop.

I ordered a 920XM today :). I have a 180W PSU. As soon as it arrives, I will experiment with OCing the CPU. Maybe we can join forces, since we both live in Sydney :).

Do you really reach 3.3 Ghz ?
because with my i5 580 I only hit 3.059 Ghz instead of 3.33 Ghz.
Woch Bios are you using and did you do some other chances too ?
    thanks for answers.
