You guys helped out so much last time, will throw this out there to see if you can figure this out! When I packed this laptop to come to Iraq was working fine, put in backpack (padded sufficiently. i though) took it out, plugged it in, and nothing...buttons light up (the half moon button is lit, hard drive indicator lights up like its booting, then goes out, etc), but no display on video at all! No bios post screen, no nothing! Screen doesn't look visibly damaged at all, and everything seems to power up correctly, fan is spinning, hard drive is spinning, etc! Is it possible that the switch that turns screen off has stuck in off position somehow from vibrations of the plane ride? Any help would be appreciated as I'm sure that some of you can attest, fixing stuff here aint that easy!

Hi. Try removing the battery then press and hold the power button for about 30 sec. to remove any electricity roaming around your notebook. Put the battery back and finally power it up. I hope that helps.

Check your RAM, this might be loose or the module isn't inserted correctly in the socket.

Have tried removing the battery and holding power button for about 20 sec and didnt change anything and tried reseating everything I could take out and put back in without complete disassembly! The DIMM 1 slot seemed to be a little loser than the DIMM 2 but it was working fine before! Anyone know if DIMM 1 is required to be populated for system to boot? I get no beep codes no display just lights in palm rest and can turn wi fi button on and off like normal but no boot! And thanks for all the help so far!

Do you hear the system booting up even without anything on the screen?

Either slot can be populated, so try SODIMM1 in slot 1 then 2. Repeat with SODIMM2.

Sounds like everything is spooling up as it should, have not had opportunity to try swapping/pulling components yet!
