Thanks for the link. I'm assuming that the bios file is newer than the one that is shipped on the laptop. I don't know if any of the drivers are newer than the ones in the install cd, though.

zeros, you're right... with the exception of the BIOS file, everything else on the CD is the same version as on the MSI site. FYI, there was a new BIOS posted just a few days ago.

Also, since this a thread about drivers, I should mention that the MS-1057 is the PERFECT laptop for installing OS X on Intel. Driver support for ALL of the hardware in the barebones MS-1057 is built-in to OS X (Intel 945GM chipset, Realtek HD Audio, bluetooth, GMA950 graphics, power management). The only restriction is that you use an atheros AR5006EX based wireless card instead of the Intel 3945abg mini-PCIe card. Otherwise, OS X installs out of the box! Pretty cool!

I'm loving this laptop more and more every day :)

p.s. zeros, I hope you don't mind but I stole your sig since we have pretty much the same specs...

Are you serious about mac os x running on this thing? have you tried or anyone else? ... do I need to do anything to get it to dual boot? Wow I should also try the Nexenta Os which is based on opensolaris .... MacOs X(bsd), Solaris, and Win on same machine plus its fits on your lap ... feels like a science fiction dream :)

Note: When I got mine every driver and bios was up to date according to liveupdate utility except for the sound drivers... and the live update worked well for that one. Should I still check the drivers manually?

The new BIOS file was just posted last thursday, and I'm not sure if liveupdate checks the BIOS version, so you may want to confirm that you are running the latest version.

Regarding OS X, take a look at osx86project.org. I can confirm that it works 100% on our laptops.
