Very simple question: I'm looking to upgrade this laptop to improve performance in a few games, one being Supreme Commander. SupCom apparently benefits greatly from dual-core processors, as such my question is simple: Does my laptop support any of the dual core Turions? All I can see in the specs is that it support Turion 64 processors, but nothing specific.

Second question: Does anyone know of any working Linux drivers for the webcam?

Third and final question: I still have a hole in the back of the monitor where a badge should go, after a good year of owning this machine. Any ideas where I can get one that fits the size requirements? :)

    Cheers!

If it has a Turion 64 single core in there, then there is no chance to put anything dual core. The single cores are socket 774, while the new dual cores are socket s1, with the latter one being completely different and not pin compatible.

Aaah, I was just reading up on the wikipedia entry for AMD processors and came to the same conclusion. Darn.

    If I wasn't a poor student, I'd invest in a desktop :)

Any ideas on the other two questions?

Well we don't know what webcam you have so we can't search for you. But what you can do is search the manufacturer's website and see if there are any non-windows drivers.

I would look on either ebay, or maybe call up MSI and see if they have any replacement logos you can put on there.
