I'm looking to get a spare AC Adapter for my MS-1036. Is there any other option to buy a universal adapter I could use in the car or a wall plug from say Kensington, iGo, or Adaptec or do I need to buy the MSI branded AC Adapter and car adapter? If that is the case any recommendations on where to buy would be appreciated.

Any Universal vehicle or A/C adapter will work, just make sure for the 1036 it is rated @ 90W and 19 volts. Also check and make sure it has the proper adapter for the notebook plug.

The MSI branded one is not from MSI anyhow, but from Li Shin. I find mine gets pretty hot some days, so I might go looking for an extra myself. MSI offers them for about $70 each if I remember correctly, but as long as you meet the right output ratings any adapter should work.
