There was little I disliked when I got my MS-1029. One of the things was the touchpad. It didn't seem responsive, the scrolling was absolutely terrible. It didn't work in many programs (like firefox) and it looked like it actually just moved the pointer over to the scrollbar and moved it up and down. Terrible.

If anyone else is hates this thing.. Try this: Nuke the Elantech drivers (KTP Ware). Reboot and allow the winxp drivers to kick in, set it at "assume wheel is present" in the advanced hardware tab of the mouse properties and you're golden. Scroll works like it should, and it seems that the mouse works more smoothly... Could be just me tho.

    Sweet!

Thanks man, I was getting pissed I could not scroll in firefox.

Unistalled KTP Ware, and the windows drivers work just as well if not better.

You can still 2 finger tap for middle click, and 3 finger tap for right click.

    Thanks again.

I don't know if you guys have tried to put x64 on the MS-1029 or not, I found all of the drivers just fine, but did have the same touchpad issue and a couple other things. The screen would not get nearly as bright, it would be the equivalent of turning down the brightest XP Pro settings 3 notches, the system also had problems with power management... hibernating and stuff.

    Hey,

I just found a new solution for this problem with the elantech touchpad. Just try drivers from synaptics. i hate, that i couldn´t scroll in firefox and the win drivers doesn´t have the functions i want,so installed the driver from http://www.synaptics.com/ over my elantech and it works. all functions and scroll in firefox.

Don´t ask me why this works, but works fine. I´m happy

    Chris
