I wouldnt recommend this pc because it gets very hot and starts throttle under heavy load

There are many reviews out there for the GS70 including forum members for you to check out.
Any gaming machine can run hot during gaming, and tend to be bulky, but GS70 is lighter and portable.
GS70 is the machine that gives both value and performance equally.
The system throttles because it's overheating, and the throttling down is caused by the EC firmware to choke the power flow to prevent system shutdown or failures. However, it is a behavior where all gaming systems will have in such scenario.
So if this is a concern to you, then best to keep the quality setting down a bit by repasting, changing thermal pads, and/or add a notebook cooler to drive more air flow.

kepler, but i've never heard of the 860m throttling in the stealth, just models with the 870m. the 860 stays reasonably cool

The stock one isn't the best thermal paste.
IC diamond can help to reduce 2 to 3 Celsius, or simply add a notebook cooler to drive more airflow will help the most.

In some cases the ICD paste will help more than 3 Celsius. It depends on the amount of stress, quality of the application, and your environment to some extent.

These systems tend to run hot per their design, but hopefully repasting helps you. :)
