Anyone know for certain whether the MSI MP54GBT2 miniPCI WiFi/Bluetooth card will work in the MS-1036 notebook? The MSI website only lists the 12" and 15.4" Turion notebooks as being compatible, but that could be because the 17" is so new.

The specs are nice, 802.11g and Bluetooth 2.0.

eWiz lists the barebones MS-1036, if you want to build your own. Sane people will buy complete systems from xmeld or rawpowerpc.

Not sure if the card will work, however will say this.

If your planning on using a 64bit OS, get this card. the Intel offerings often paired with these notebooks DO NOT have 64 bit drivers that run with windows xp64.
I had tried to ask if they would make one, but only got a reply that the card series was no longer supported (2915 abg card).

I guess eWiz sold all the ones they had. Oh well. That was bound to be a popular notebook.

Yes, the combo card works in the MS-1036. In fact, by design, that is how the 1036 offers BT, it does NOT have integrated BT as is suggested on MSI's web site.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

The MS-1036 is back up on eWiz at the link I posted above. They might have raised the price slightly, I don't remember the old price.
