Recently my GPU has got broken, i tried the warranty people, but no one replying there after even 2 weeks, talked to the reseller (btotech), he said my warranty is not valid anyway with the whole glue thing.

Now i am looking for a GPU Replacement,
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 - Notebookcheck.net Tech
My perfered choice would be 5850, but i wont mind other less or more powerfull one's as long as its totally 100% combatible with GX640-98US version.
I have searched in ebay and other places for 5850 but cant find it anywhere.
I am no hardware guy, but i know that if i bought more powerful GPU it will cause heating problems as my old 5850 was idle at 55'c and reached upto 85'c while gaming. And i dont want the temp to reach any higher then that. GX640 cooling system is not that good, my brother has ASus g53 with GTX260M and he has almost same temperature but his laptop seems way better shape then mine.
As for how less powerfull, i usually play fifa 12, and the new call of duty. as long as it can handle fifa 12 and probably fifa 13/14 in the future, i am good with that. Though not to far down from 5850 in the notebookcheck.
The prise well, i wont mind as long as its under 200$ with shipment. But the most important thing is its fully compatible and will not overheat the laptop. If anyone knows the place to find these, please post, also i live in qatar, so shipment is needed to there.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Hey man if you want a cheap and swap in replacement then grab an HD5870 mobility. Dell ones require bios flashing but HP and Clevo ones should work fine.
-
well 5870 is too powerfull and will overheat the system that already got burned by less powerfull one. thus i want a little less powerfull one.

You'd be much better undervolting and underclocking the 5870.
You wont find a cheaper card and the others wont fit anyway without heatsink mods. -
my dead 5850 was underclocked at 300/400 90% of the time, even when playing , i had special profile for every game and at max i was playing 550/650 even with the top games, while the normal (when i bought this) clocks were 625/1000.
with 625/1000 clock, the idle temp was 60-62'c and gaming was reached upto 95'c, that was when i first bought this, once i realized it was too high. after a week i did the clocking profiles. thats after 2 weeks after i bough the lapy, i didnt want my gpu to get burned. the profiles system bought the temp to 50-54'c at idle and 65-80'c max while gaming bf3 and crisis and i only played these games for like 15hrs overall, most the time i was playing fifa 12 at less clocks and the temp never got over 74'c. -
wouldn't wonder, GX640 cooling system tend to be suckish with 1 copper pipe for each and shared with the same heatsink! get the 5870m and sell it or sell it as parts! get the GT683R or DXR! or the barebone! I'm surprised you still enjoy gaming with that burning coal!

If you are interested , I have one R5870m NEW for sell . Remember R5850 and 5870 this is the same vga card. Only vbios is different r5870 = higher clocks. If you want I can prepare BIOS with voltage and 5850 clocks, but R5870 will be good for msi gx640 without overclocking. Remember to use good thermal paste.
Also there is hope that your old R5850 can be fixed.
Looking for a replacement GPU or GX640-98US
