    Hello everyone!

Ok I have the old MS-1003 and I still love it...
    its plenty quick ,
I still get 4-5 hours of battery life :D
and its quite durable, I have dropped the thing like 5 times :p

So you might be asking so why do you need a new laptop?

I need it to run a specialty 64 bit program... :(

so after have such a great experience with this MSI laptop I want to buy another one.

so what 64-bit MSI Laptops do you guys recommend?

    Here are the requirements...

    1. It needs to have a 64-bit processor (is the Turion64 the only 64 bit laptop processor? )

    2. I need a high battery life 3 hours plus would be great (is this even
possible while running a 64 bit processor? )

    3. I would prefer video to be a Nvidia based chipset because it’s going to be running Linux :) (Ati is ok...)

    4. the barebone needs to be under $1000

Thanks in advance for your help.
    :)

the turion and mobile athlon are the only mobile 64-bit notebook processors available. i hear that they just released new drives for the x1000+ series of ati that might help with the compatibility. i don't think at this moment there exists a computer with an athlon cpu and nvidia, except the giant gaming rigs that sager/clevo have (9750, 5950), and they probably get less than an hour of battery life. if you looking to get one now, the ms-1029 is the best currently available.

    Thanks guys,
you guys were a big help.

I was thinking about the MS-1039 but I have no idea how long the battery life might be, its got to be pretty low...I think I will wait until someone makes a review. :)

as for the MS-1029 my mother has one its good....I was really hoping something newer than the X700... and the battary isnt that long like 2 hours on a good day :(

unfortunately, i believe that is all that is available, unless you wait until after the turion x2 release.
