Playing overwatch cpu temps his 94c gpu 86c or so. Trying to see how it does in Firestrike benchmark but I have a wierd issue, the video doesnt "play" its more like a bunch of pictures. It must be lagging like hell... may have got lemon.
Lol it just scored a 337 in firestrike. What in the hell
Graphics test 1 - 1.79 fps
Graphics test 2 - 1.41 fps
Wtf is going on here lmao
Edit****
So I discovered it was trying to use the onboard intel graphics, changed the setting in the nvidia control panel to use the "high end nvidia". Running it again.
Much better result lol, 13667. Temps were actually good throughout the benchmark. Not sure what to do.
Edit again, so I just played another round of overwatch and my cpu hit around 85c however I had the laptop sitting on my lap. It must have been using the onboard graphics the first time i tried overwatch putting alot of strain on the cpu causing the 94c temps...I may be ok afterall. Get it repasted sometime but I dont see any real issue anymore...cant say ive ever seen a laptop out of the box try and use the onboard graphics lol.

That's the problem with Optimus, games won't always default to the Nvidia GPU.

Hi. I own a GE72MVR myself and I've had a lot of succes with undervolting both cpu and gpu to lower temperatures, whilst maintaining performance. I get max high 70's celcius after prolonged gaming.

Is VSync on or anything like that to lock frame rates? If you don't have anything to restrict FPS, then it will try to make all the frames, and get hotter than what it would if they were capped at your screen refresh rate.

You can undervolt Pascal with MSI voltage curve editor.
I have a how-to on my channel and there are a handful out there if you need some help.
Just picked up a MSI GE72MVR (1070) today need help
