My laptop is the same barebones as the GX610 with very similar components.

    15" screen
    AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 @ 1.8 ghz
    2047 mb ram (ddr2)
    ATI mobility radeon hd2600 256mb (ddr3)
    120gb hdd (7200 rpm)
    1.3mp bison web cam
    DVD+RW drive

First of all. This computer is one of the best values i have seen on the market today. I would venture to say it has the highest power/price ratio. I bought mine with cyberpowerpc.com and it cost me roughly $1,000 or about 510 pounds. An amazing deal if you ask me.

As you can see, it is almost identical to the GX610. When it comes to looks, it is very stylish (note: this is coming from someone with very very limited knowledge when it comes to style and fashion, so i will just add some pics later). It has a piano black finish, which does look quite nice. There is no function to turn off the touch pad, but it is offset a little bit, and i have only accidentally hit the pad a few times. It is a slim design and relatively lightweight (not sure exactly, but i would say 5-6 pounds max. Thats what, 2.5 kgs?). It is also pretty standard when it comes to noise. Super quiet when you are just surfing the internet, playing music, etc... While it is a lil bit more audible when doing more graphic or processor intense applications. Overall, i would say its average. Many of my friends have laptops and they all are relatively the same.

The DVD player is the loudest part of the laptop for sure. You can definitely feel/hear it when installing something (haven't watched a dvd yet sorry). But for the people who enjoy very quiet and unnoticeable movie watching on their laptop, this might be a problem.

It has a full keyboard with number pad! Sounds great right? Well for the most part it is, but it does have some drawbacks. in order to fit the number pad, MSI had to shrink the standard keyboard a little. What does this mean you ask? Well for starters, some keys on the right are squished and smaller than normal. The period, question mark, shift are the major ones. The arrow keys are also very small. But I am almost completely used to it now, but for some people this might be a problem. The only other comment i have about the keyboard is the fact that they have the Fn key and Ctrl mixed up, which is annoying. With some practice, I'm sure it won't be a problem for me.

Now to the good stuff, Performance. So far.... Excellent. Just as expected from the HD2600 (mobile) ddr3. It is a great graphics card for any casual gamer. It plays any game so far on High-Max settings with good frame rates. HL2 and Doom3 are the only games i have tested so far, but my friend has crysis so will post back the results shortly. Like i stated earlier, this is definitely alot of bang for your buck. I have not overclocked anything, but i have heard the HD2600 ddr3 has great potential for that. My windows rating is a 4.7 (limited by the processor), and the graphics card is rated a 4.9 (but like i said i have heard 5.1 for overclockers).

The AMD processor has, thus far, given me not problems at all. Intel core2 seem to be better, but the AMD works very well for me. Please note i generally only play games. If you are someone who constantly uses cpu intensive applications gx600 might be a better option for you.

Overall, i am very satisfied with the laptop. Great performance, great price, and i like the way it looks. The Fn / Ctrl key is my biggest complaint, but otherwise i love it. If anyone would like to know anymore information just ask.

3dmark06 results: 1280 x 800. I got a 3462 stock. I have not found a very good overclocking tool for the hd2600 yet, but when I do I will post the overclocked results.

    Battery Life: 6cell battery

Power Saver mode = approx 2hours 20 min with internet access (basic web surfing and word processing)
Balanced mode = approx 2hours with internet access
High performance = approx 1 hour and 30 min internet access
High performance = approx 1 hour high intensity gaming (half life 2)

    * Note: I was running RMclock with an undervolted cpu. Sorry I forgot to turn it off.

I wish there were a more thorough review of this notebook that included benchmarks, battery life, etc...
If anyone can give some insight that would be great.
    Thanks
