    The title says it all.

I took the CPU, RAM, HD and Wireless card from my MS-1029 and put them in my 1039. I followed the install instructions from the MSI website exactly (there were no setup instructions in the box like with the 1029). I installed everything and hit the power button...

The power button lights up. The DVDRW drive and HD begin to spin up. The Battery and Standby lights come on. Then everything just stops for a split second - the lights go off, drives stop spinning. Then it all happens again repeatedly. @(#$^@ No screen, no POST, no nothing.

Everything was working in my 1029. I literally took them out of the old laptop and put them in the new one without hesitation.

My first instinct says that the 1039 doesn't like my RAM - a pair of Corsair Valueselect PC3200 sticks. But who knows what the real problem is...

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I don't want this to become an $850 paperweight.

    :( :( :(

Make sure that all of the hardware components are put into their sockets PROPERLY. like the right way in, right side up, left to left and right to right. they are pushed all the way in and arent bent or crooked. i have had that before.
if nothing helps... call an air strike :D i mean customer support

    Found out the hard way...

My MT-40 is dead. No clue what happened between taking it out of the 1029 and putting it into the 1039. I guess it shorted out... I was properly grounded and everything and I never overclocked. Grumble.

Luckily I still had my old MT-30 which I was saving for a laptop I was going to build for my brother. Everything seems to be okay, besides my horribly expensive CPU loss.

You might of bent a pin? I would take it out and go over each pin with your eye really carefully and the put it back in.. Or you could of put the heatsink on incorrectly and fried it.
